Hero Hunter is one of the easiest characters to learn in The Strongest Battlegrounds, and the best part: he's completely free. His entire kit is built around close-range martial arts with moves that give you armor when they land. You get a healing passive on top of that, so you stay alive longer in fights. Whether you're new to the game or grinding PvP, Hero Hunter is a solid pick.
How to Unlock Hero Hunter
Good news: there's nothing to unlock. Hero Hunter is available to every player at no cost. You don't need Robux, level requirements, or special items. Just select him from the character menu and start fighting.
What Hero Hunter Is
Hero Hunter uses a water-based martial arts moveset inspired by one of the main characters from One Punch Man. Every attack in his base form grants basic armor when it hits, meaning you'll reduce damage while attacking. His passive "Siphon" lets you heal by finishing enemies with specific moves, which keeps you in extended fights without needing to back off.
In Ultimate Mode (press G), Hero Hunter emits a purple aura and gains access to his "Rampage" form with stronger, more devastating moves.
Base Moveset and Damage
Hero Hunter's kit is straightforward and combo-friendly:
- M1: Two water jabs, a knee strike, and a spin kick. Each sequence deals 14% damage with a 2-second cooldown. The final hit launches at a steeper angle than most characters.
- Flowing Water (17s cooldown): Lunge forward and lock onto your target. If you connect, you'll strike their chest 10 times while pushing them forward, then launch them away. Deals 24% damage and grants armor. If the enemy is blocking, they take more knockback on the final hit.
- Lethal Whirlwind Stream (20s cooldown): Grab your opponent by the neck and drag them across the floor before slamming them down. Deals 18% damage normally, or 28% if you're in the air when you throw them (the lethal variant). Grants armor.
- Hunter's Grasp (15s cooldown): Stomp the ground to create a rock uplift ahead of you. Deals 10% damage, plus up to 12% extra if the enemy hits a surface. If they're already ragdolled, they take 50% less knockback. Grants armor.
- Prey's Peril (17s cooldown): A counter move. Put your hand up to block, and when the enemy hits you, you'll be dragged toward them and juggle them with jabs before launching them away. Deals 21% damage and grants armor. You can also reflect projectiles with this move (but it doesn't grant armor when you do).
Ultimate Mode: Rampage
When you activate Ultimate Mode, Hero Hunter transforms and gains three exclusive moves:
- Rampage (40 second duration): Smash the ground to create a massive crater with glowing cracks. Enemies caught in the blast take 15–30% damage depending on how close they are to the center. This attack bypasses most armor forms.
- Water Stream Rock Smashing (26% damage): Perform a rapid punch barrage, then slam down. Works on ragdolled enemies and can be countered, but can't be blocked.
- The Final Hunt: His ultimate finisher move (details on full effects are in the game).
Passive Abilities
Martial Artist: Your final M1 hit launches enemies at a much higher angle than normal. This makes your combos easier to chain and gives you better positioning control.
Siphon: You heal when you finish enemies with specific moves:
- Flowing Water, Lethal Whirlwind Stream, and Prey's Peril heal 33% HP
- Hunter's Grasp heals 20% HP
- The Final Hunt heals 50% HP
Tips for Playing Hero Hunter
Master the combo flow: Hero Hunter's moves chain together naturally. Start with M1 to build momentum, then transition into Flowing Water or Lethal Whirlwind Stream for guaranteed hits. His high launch angle on the final M1 makes it easy to land follow-ups in the air.
Use Prey's Peril defensively and offensively: This counter isn't just for blocking—it's a full offensive reversal. Bait aggressive players into attacking, trigger the counter, and immediately launch into your combo. You'll catch them off-guard and deal damage while they're landing.
Abuse the healing passive: In team fights or extended PvP, finishing enemies with the right move keeps you healthy for the next fight. Prioritize using high-healing finishers (especially The Final Hunt) when you're low on health.
