Violence District puts you in an intense 5-versus-1 horror showdown. Five survivors must complete objectives and escape alive, while one killer hunts them down for the match. The role you get determines your entire strategy—but both sides have tough decisions to make.
Whether you're running or hunting, these tips will help you get your footing in the game.
Survivor Basics
As a survivor, your job is straightforward: stay alive and escape. You're the underdog—five of you against one killer, but that killer is dangerous and relentless. Expect to be challenged. Your goal is to complete the required objectives so you can get out, ideally with your teammates.
Work as a Team
Survivors win when they cooperate. The killer is faster and stronger than any single player, so sticking with your team makes survival much more likely. When you're split up, the killer can pick you off one by one. Coordinate your movements, share information about the killer's location, and support each other during chases.
Use Pallets Wisely
Pallets are your main tool for stunning the killer and breaking line of sight during a chase. They're scarce, though—the game doesn't give you unlimited resources. Don't waste them early in the match on low-priority situations. Save them for when you really need to escape, reset a chase, or protect a teammate. Wasting pallets early means you'll be defenseless later.
Focus on Objectives
You can't just hide and survive—you need to complete objectives to unlock your escape. Even though the killer is hunting, progressing on these tasks is non-negotiable. Balance speed with caution. Sometimes you'll need to take risks to push forward, but always have an escape route in mind.
Know When to Run
If the killer spots you, running immediately gives you the best head start. Don't freeze or hide when you're already seen—use the distance you have to reach a pallet, loop terrain, or link up with teammates. The longer you stay away from the killer, the more time your allies have to work on objectives.
Communicate with Teammates
Call out the killer's location, shout when you need help, and warn your team about danger. Even quick callouts like "killer heading west" or "pallet down at generator" can save lives. The team that communicates best usually survives best.
Killer Fundamentals
As the killer, you're outnumbered but powerful. Your role is to hunt down survivors and prevent their escape. You need to apply constant pressure, cut off their escape routes, and eliminate them before they can complete their objectives and flee.
Hunt Strategically
Don't chase the first survivor you see if it means ignoring important objectives. Survivors are working toward something—find where they're doing their tasks and intercept them there. Defending key objective locations forces survivors to either fight you or abandon progress.
Prevent Escapes
Your ultimate goal is to stop survivors from escaping. Once they complete their objectives, they'll try to leave the game. Cut them off before they reach the exit, and eliminate anyone trying to get out. Don't let them escape alive.
Adapt to Survivor Tactics
Survivors will use pallets, terrain, and numbers to outmaneuver you. Watch where they run, remember which pallets they've used, and learn the map. Over time, you'll recognize their favorite tactics and be able to counter them. Stay unpredictable—change up your routes so they can't predict where you'll come from next.
