Abandoned Mine is a map from the original Murder Mystery game. It was part of MM1 but did not carry over when Murder Mystery 2 released on December 25, 2014. If you want to experience this classic location, you can still access it through the original creator's standalone game.

What Is Abandoned Mine?

Abandoned Mine takes place deep underground in a mineshaft setting. The map uses very dark lighting throughout, with the only illumination coming from crystals and gems embedded in the walls. This creates an atmospheric, shadowy environment perfect for a murder mystery game where hiding spots are crucial.

Map Layout

The map features a series of interconnected passageways, most of which are dead ends. This branching tunnel system is ideal for Innocents to hide and evade the Murderer. There is one central open area containing multiple gems scattered around. In this open space sits a mine cart positioned on track rails, and a glowing crystal sits nearby—distinctive landmark features that make navigation easier.

How to Play Abandoned Mine

Abandoned Mine is no longer available in Murder Mystery 2's map rotation. To play it, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the original creator PRESLAV10's standalone Abandoned Mine game on Roblox (the link is available on the Murder Mystery 2 wiki).
  2. Join the game and play using standard Murder Mystery rules.
  3. If you're an Innocent, use the dark tunnels and dead ends to hide from the Murderer.
  4. If you're the Sheriff, patrol the central area and main passageways to protect Innocents and hunt the Murderer.
  5. If you're the Murderer, use the maze-like passages to hunt Innocents scattered throughout the map.
💡 Tip — The dark lighting and many dead-end passages make Abandoned Mine excellent for hide-and-seek gameplay. Innocents should memorize a few tunnel routes and find shadowy corners; Murderers should control the central gem area and main intersections.

Legacy and Successor

Abandoned Mine was added to Murder Mystery 1 in version 0.3.2b on February 2, 2014. About two years after its removal from MM2, a spiritual successor map called Mineshaft was created, carrying forward the underground mineshaft theme for newer players.
