The 2016 Halloween Box was the very first Halloween weapon crate in Murder Mystery 2. It dropped during the 2016 Halloween Event as the only holiday box available that year. Inside were ten knives spanning four rarity tiers. Today, these weapons are no longer available from the event—you can only get them by trading with other players.

What Is the 2016 Halloween Box?

This was a seasonal weapon box exclusive to the 2016 Halloween Event in Murder Mystery 2. It contained Halloween-themed knives that have become collectible because they're no longer dropped in crates. Some weapons from this box were reskinned in 2017—for example, Orange Marble became Green Marble, and Scratch got a follow-up version called Scratch (2017). Hallow's Edge was also reskinned as Hallow's Blade.

How to Open It

During the 2016 Halloween Event, you could open the box by spending 100 Candies. These were the special event currency earned by playing during that period. Since the event has ended, the box is no longer available to open. If you somehow have one in your inventory, you can still open it the same way—but new boxes cannot be obtained.

💡 Tip — If you want any of these knives today, your only option is to trade for them with other players. Check the in-game trading system or community trade servers to find them.

Drop Rates by Rarity

The box had a tiered drop system:

  • Common (60% chance): Ghosty, Witch, or Brains—you had a high chance of getting one of these three.
  • Uncommon (25% chance): Moons, Wolf, or Vampire—medium rarity, harder to pull than Common.
  • Rare (10% chance): Orange Marble or Bats—much harder to find.
  • Legendary (5% chance): Scratch—very hard to pull.
  • Godly (<1% chance): Hallow's Edge—the rarest knife in the box, with an unknown exact percentage.
💡 Tip — If you unboxed this during the event and got Hallow's Edge or Scratch, hold onto them. These legendary and godly weapons are highly sought-after by collectors.

How to Get These Knives Now

Since the 2016 Halloween Event is over, the 2016 Halloween Box can no longer be opened. These knives are now part of the game's permanent collection but are only obtainable through player-to-player trading.

To get any of these weapons:

  1. Open the in-game trade menu or join a trading server.
  2. Search for players who own the knife you want (Ghosty, Witch, Hallow's Edge, etc.).
  3. Make an offer using knives or items you already have.
  4. Agree on a fair trade and complete the exchange.
💡 Tip — Godly and Legendary knives from old events command high prices in trades. If you're looking to snag Hallow's Edge or Scratch, expect to pay significantly more than newer knives.
