Heroes Battlegrounds is a cross-platform fighting game where you pick a hero or villain, learn their moves, and battle other players to climb the ranks. By the end of this guide, you'll know every essential control and have a solid foundation for winning fights.
The game works on console, PC, and mobile, so you can play anywhere. Each character has unique abilities—learn them and you'll quickly become dangerous.
Controls and Keybinds
Every action in Heroes Battlegrounds comes down to five core controls. Memorize these first on PC:
- Left Click — Punch (your basic attack)
- Jump + Left Click — Downslam (jump and hit enemies below you)
- Q — Dash (dodge side to side)
- Q (while Ragdolled) — Recovery Dash (escape after being knocked down)
- F — Block (reduce incoming damage)
- G — Ultimate (your character's strongest move)
- B — Emote Menu (cosmetic animations)
Console and mobile map these to different buttons, but the functionality stays the same.
Your First Fight
When you spawn, you'll see other players in the arena. Your goal is simple: knock them down and stay alive.
- Approach an opponent and land Left Click punches to chip their health.
- If they attack you, hold F to block and reduce damage.
- When you have space, press Q to dash away and reposition.
- If you get knocked down and ragdolled, press Q immediately to escape.
- Once you've charged your Ultimate (G), use it for massive damage or to finish downed enemies.
Fights are chaotic at first. Focus on not dying. The more you watch your opponents move, the faster you'll read their patterns.
Mastering Characters
Each character has a passive ability and unique move set. As you play and win fights, you'll earn the ability to unlock mastered versions of characters, making them significantly stronger.
The difference between a base character and a mastered one is huge—invest time in one character's moveset before jumping between many. Learn their Downslam combo, their block windows, and when their Ultimate hits hardest.
Combat Fundamentals
Heroes Battlegrounds rewards smart positioning and timing over button mashing.
- Space control — Keep distance if you're low on health; close the gap if your Ultimate is ready.
- Block strategically — Don't hold it forever; block the hits that matter and dash when the opponent resets.
- Downslam punishes — After you knock an enemy down, use Jump + Left Click to keep pressure. It's one of your fastest follow-ups.
- Ultimate timing — Save your Ultimate (G) for moments when the enemy can't dodge—during their own attack, after a knockdown, or when they're cornered.
Progression and Unlocks
The core progression loop is straightforward: fight other players, win matches, and unlock stronger versions of characters. There's no battle pass or hidden grind—you earn mastered characters by playing and improving.
Each new character feels different. Once you're comfortable with one, branch out and learn a second. Your skills transfer, but every character's combos are unique.
