ENTRENCHED WW1 drops you into the chaos of the Great War. You'll fight with the Entente or Central Powers in brutal trench battles across multiple game modes. The game is all about teamwork, positioning, and picking the right class for the job. Ready to go to war? Let's get you started.

What Is ENTRENCHED WW1?

ENTRENCHED WW1 is a World War 1–themed military shooter available on PC, mobile, and console. Two factions clash in large-scale battles that range from turn-based frontline assaults to domination modes. The game emphasizes strategic class selection and squad-based gameplay. Your choices matter: pick the wrong loadout, and you'll struggle. Pick the right one, and you'll carry your team.

Choosing Your Class

Before you spawn, you must select a class. ENTRENCHED offers 9 different classes, each with unique weapons and abilities. The class you pick determines your role in battle and what weapons you can equip.

Take time in the lobby to read each class description. Some excel at close range, others at distance. Some support allies, others lead charges. There's no "best" class—only the best class for your playstyle and your team's needs. If your squad is full of aggressive assaulters, pick a support or defensive class instead. Balance wins wars.

💡 Tip — Try a different class each match until you find one that feels natural. This teaches you how each role works and helps you spot weaknesses when facing them.

Your First Battle

Once you spawn into a match, here's what to do:

  1. Find your team. Look at the minimap (bottom corner). Blue dots are teammates. Stick near them instead of wandering alone.
  2. Locate objectives. Depending on the mode, you'll either defend a trench, assault enemy positions, or fight for control points. Learn the map layout over your first few games.
  3. Get a weapon. Weapons are found on the ground, in supply crates, or granted by your class loadout. Pick up ammo whenever you see it.
  4. Check your ammo count. Look at your HUD (top right or center of screen). If the number is low, find more ammunition or swap weapons.
  5. Take cover. Never stand in open ground. Hide behind rocks, sandbags, walls, and terrain. Peek out to shoot, then duck back.
  6. Listen for enemy sounds. Gunfire, explosions, and footsteps tell you where enemies are. Use audio cues to anticipate attacks.

Battle Modes Explained

ENTRENCHED rotates between three main battle types:

Turn-Based Frontline Assault & Defense

One team attacks, the other defends. After a set time, roles swap. If you're attacking, push toward the enemy trench. If you're defending, hold the line. These matches reward patience and positioning over raw reflexes.

Perpetual Attack vs. Defense

The attacker and defender roles never swap. Attackers must breach and push forward continuously; defenders hold ground. This mode tests endurance and adaptability.

King of the Hill (Domination)

Both teams fight for control of a central objective. Holding it longest wins the round. These are chaotic, close-quarters battles where teamwork and point control matter most.

💡 Tip — Each mode favors different classes and tactics. In domination, pick a class good at close range. In assault, pick one that excels at pushing objectives.

Core Combat Tips

Aim for the head. Headshots deal more damage. Practice flicking your aim to enemy heads instead of spraying at their body.

Lean and peek. Most covers let you lean left or right to shoot while staying safe. Use this to peek corners without exposing your full body.

Manage your ammo. Ammunition is finite. Don't waste bullets on distant targets you'll miss. Save fire for high-confidence shots.

Move as a squad. Never wander alone. Always have at least one teammate nearby. A lone player is easy prey.

Control the high ground. Elevated terrain gives you a massive advantage. If you can get above enemies, you can rain fire on them. If you're below, climb or reposition.

Learn the map. After 2–3 matches, you'll memorize spawn points, ammo caches, and chokepoints. Use this knowledge to predict where enemies will be.

Common Beginner Mistakes

Running into the open. The biggest killer of new players. Every second you're exposed, you can be shot. Always use cover.

Ignoring the minimap. Your minimap shows teammate locations and objective markers. Glance at it every few seconds. It saves your life.

Sticking with a bad loadout. If your class isn't working, swap next round. Don't force a weapon or role you're uncomfortable with.

Wasting grenades. Grenades are powerful but limited. Throw them only when you know enemies are grouped up. A grenade on an empty alley is a wasted utility.

Chasing kills into traps. After you eliminate an enemy, stay put. Don't chase their teammates into ambushes. Consolidate your position and wait for the next engagement.

Forgetting to resupply. When your ammo drops below 25%, find ammo crates or find teammates who can share. Running dry mid-firefight is a death sentence.
