ENTRENCHED WW1 is a fast-paced military shooter set in the trenches of the First World War. You'll choose from 9 different classes, squad up with teammates, and battle across multiple game modes. Whether you're defending a trench or pushing an objective, knowing the basics will get you winning faster.
Understand the Game Modes
ENTRENCHED WW1 has three main game mode types, and each one plays differently. Turn-based attack and defense frontlines reward patience and positioning—you'll coordinate with your team to either hold a line or break through it. Perpetual attack versus defense conquest is non-stop action where one team attacks while the other defends, and roles can switch. King of the hill domination focuses on controlling a central objective. Pick whichever mode matches your playstyle, but learning all three will make you flexible and valuable to your team.
Pick a Class and Stick with It
You have 9 classes to choose from. As a beginner, don't jump between classes every match. Pick one and spend time learning how it plays. Different classes have different weapons, abilities, and roles on the team. Understanding your class's strengths and weaknesses—and how to position yourself—matters way more than trying everything at once.
Learn Your Weapons First
Each class comes with its own loadout of weapons. In your first few matches, focus on getting comfortable with what you're holding. Learn the weapon's range, how fast it fires, and how to aim it. Don't stress about unlocking fancy skins or new guns yet. Master the basics, then experiment with upgrades.
Stay With Your Team
Running off alone in ENTRENCHED WW1 gets you killed fast. Trench warfare is about holding ground together. Move as a group, cover each other's angles, and focus fire on enemies. A squad of four players working together beats four solo players every time.
Use Cover and Positioning
The maps have trenches, barriers, and buildings designed as cover. Don't run down the middle of the battlefield. Peek from behind cover, take your shots, and duck back. Good positioning lets you control engagements and survive longer. High ground and tight corridors are your friends.
Peek Before You Push
Before moving into a new area, look around the corner or edge first. Gather intel on enemy positions without committing your whole body. In turn-based modes, this is especially critical—you get one chance to plan your move, so scout first.
Manage Reload Times
Don't let yourself get caught reloading in the middle of a fight. Reload when you're behind cover, when there's a lull in combat, or when you know an area is clear. Running out of ammo in a shootout is a quick way to lose.
Play the Objective
In conquest and king of the hill modes, holding or capturing the objective wins the match. Don't just chase kills. If you're defending, hold your ground and protect the area. If you're attacking, push toward the target and help your team take it. Objective play is how you win consistently.
Check Map Layout Early
Spend your first match or two just learning the map. Where are the choke points? Where can you flank? Where do enemies usually set up? Once you know the terrain, you'll move more confidently and make smarter decisions in combat.
Stay Calm Under Fire
Panicking leads to missed shots and bad positioning. When you come under fire, take a breath, use your cover, and return fire calmly. Aim matters more than spray-and-pray. Controlled bursts or single shots will kill enemies faster than wild shooting.
Watch Better Players
Hop into matches and pay attention to what experienced players do. How do they position themselves? When do they reload? How do they use cover? You'll learn the game faster by observing high-level play than by guessing.
