Twisted puts you in the role of a storm chaser on the roads and prairies of Keysota. You'll be hunting severe weather, but the danger goes both ways — sometimes the hunters become the hunted. Here's how to survive and thrive as a beginner.

Check Your Device Performance First

Twisted is demanding on hardware. The game will not run well on low-end devices, so make sure your computer or phone can handle it before jumping in. If you experience lag, stuttering, or crashes, lower your graphics settings or consider playing on a better device.

Understand Your Three Main Roles

You have three main ways to play in Twisted:

  • Data collection: Deploy probes to gather meteorological information. Safe, methodical, science-focused.
  • Armored interception: Drive an armored vehicle to get as close to storms as possible. High risk, high reward for adrenaline seekers.
  • Photography: Take pictures of severe weather from strategic positions. Balance observation with the thrill of the chase.

Pick the playstyle that matches your preference. You don't need to do everything at once.

Start With Safe Observation

As a beginner, position yourself at a distance from active storms before you push closer. Observe the weather patterns, watch where tornadoes form, and learn how they move across the terrain. This gives you time to react and plan your next move without getting caught off-guard.

Learn Keysota's Layout

The rolling hills and prairies of Keysota are your playground. Spend time exploring the map to find good vantage points for photography, areas where storms typically form, and escape routes if weather turns dangerous. Knowing the terrain means you can position yourself better and react faster when a storm appears.

Respect the Storm Mechanics

Tornadoes and severe weather in Twisted are dangerous. Don't assume you're safe just because you got close once. Weather changes, storms intensify, and direction shifts. Always have an exit strategy when you move closer to a storm, especially if you're driving an armored vehicle.

💡 Tip — The hunters can become the hunted. Storm chasing looks cool, but don't get so focused on the perfect shot or probe placement that you lose track of where the tornado is moving.

Use Your Vehicle Strategically

If you're using an armored vehicle for interception, remember it's built to take damage but not invincible. Keep an eye on your durability, and don't drive straight into the teeth of a tornado. Use the vehicle to get into position, collect what you need, and get out before conditions become lethal.

Plan Before Deploying Equipment

Whether you're placing probes or setting up for a photo, take a moment to plan. Identify where a storm is headed, find the safest position along its path, and move there before you deploy or shoot. Rushing into position while a tornado is bearing down on you is a recipe for failure.

Connect With Other Players

The Twisted community is active and helpful. Join the official social links and Discord channels to talk with other players, view patch notes and announcements, and share your best storm-chasing moments. Other players can teach you storm patterns, vehicle tips, and safety strategies you won't learn alone.
