One Tap is a fast-paced first-person shooter built around sniper combat. It's pure chaos — no teams, just you and everyone else fighting for eliminations. One shot to the head usually means you're out. Master the sniper, learn when to switch to your secondary, and climb the leaderboard.

What You Need to Know

Core mechanic: One-shot kills with your primary sniper rifle. Land a headshot, and the enemy is gone. Land a body shot, and you'll need a follow-up. Your secondary weapon takes two shots to kill, or one if you hit the head. Melee is your last resort.

No loadout customization at the start. Everyone spawns with the same sniper and secondary. As you level up and unlock cosmetics, you'll equip weapon skins, kill effects, and name tags — purely cosmetic changes that don't affect gameplay.

Free-for-all. There are no teams. Every player is your enemy. Streaks, trick shots, and clean kills earn you rewards and move you up the ranks.

Your First Match

  1. Spawn in the arena. You'll load into the map with a sniper as your primary and a two-shot secondary weapon ready.
  2. Get your bearings. Look around. Other players are spawning too. They're all trying to kill you.
  3. Scope in. Aim down sights with your sniper. One headshot = elimination. Body shots require a second shot or a melee finish.
  4. Listen for footsteps and gunfire. Audio is your friend. You can hear enemies moving and shooting, even when you can't see them.
  5. Switch when pressured. If someone lands a shot near you and your sniper isn't ready, swap to your secondary. Two shots (or one headshot) and they're down.
  6. Use melee only as a panic button. Whip out the knife if an enemy closes the gap or you're desperate. It's slower than shooting.
  7. Eliminate the leaderboard threat. If you see the same name at the top repeatedly, they're good. Hunting good players teaches you faster than farming new spawns.

Core Mechanics

Sniper (Primary): One shot to the head kills instantly. Body shots deal damage but don't guarantee a kill. You'll see blood feedback and damage numbers so you know what landed.

Secondary (Two-Shot): Fires faster than the sniper. It takes two body shots or one headshot to eliminate an enemy. Switch to this when your sniper isn't ready or you're in close combat.

Melee: A knife or blade. Quick slash damage, but slow compared to shooting. Use it only when the enemy is right in front of you.

Streaks: Kill the same player multiple times without dying, or rack up back-to-back eliminations. These trigger special effects and move you up the score.

Kill effects: Visual cosmetics that play when you eliminate someone. You can equip these from your inventory.

💡 Tip — Headshots are your bread and butter. Practice your crosshair placement. Aim at head level before you scope in, then flick to confirm the shot.

Unlocks and Progression

As you play, you earn levels. Leveling up, completing daily challenges, and finishing quests all reward you with currency or cosmetics.

Weapon Skins: 70+ available (with more coming). These change the look of your weapons but don't affect how they perform.

Roll Cases: Spend currency to open cases and unlock rare or limited cosmetics. Your chances improve if you hunt for duplicates and trade them.

Kill Effects: Equip special effects that trigger when you get an elimination. Purely cosmetic.

Name Tags: Customize how your name appears above your character.

💡 Tip — Focus on learning the game before chasing cosmetics. Master sniper accuracy and map control first. Skins don't help you aim.

Early Mistakes to Avoid

Spraying with the secondary. Don't panic and mash the shoot button. Tap carefully. Two clean shots beat five panicked spray shots.

Staying in one spot. If you get a kill, move. Other players heard your shots. They're rushing you. Keep moving between good vantage points.

Ignoring audio. Mute distractions. Listen for footsteps, reloads, and shots. Knowing where enemies are before you see them is a huge advantage.

Trying to out-melee. Your knife is slow. Don't challenge someone who closes the gap if you can shoot them instead.

Chasing kills into bad positions. If you eliminate someone and their teammate is nearby, don't chase into their spawn. Reposition and control the map instead.

Quick Controls Reference

Mouse (PC): Aim with mouse, left-click to shoot, right-click to scope, scroll or number keys to switch weapons.

Controller (Console/Controller): Right trigger to shoot, left trigger to scope, bumpers or d-pad to switch weapons.

Mobile/Tablet: Tap to shoot, hold to scope (or use on-screen buttons), swipe to aim.

Keybindings can usually be customized in settings. Adjust them to what feels natural to you.

💡 Tip — Sensitivity matters. Start with default settings, then lower your sensitivity slightly if you're overshooting. Precision beats speed at sniper range.

Your Goal

Your first goal is simple: stay alive and land headshots. Rack up eliminations, climb the leaderboard, and unlock your first skin or kill effect to make the game feel like yours. From there, chase streaks, learn the map spawns and sight lines, and hunt the top player until you take the crown.

One Tap is all about consistency and sound decision-making. Every life is a chance to learn. Play, practice, and don't worry about cosmetics yet.
