Above The Clouds is the only fishing location in Fisch that floats entirely in the sky. It's a floating area with invisible water far below the clouds—a unique and challenging spot to fish. You'll find some of the rarest fish in the game here, but getting there requires several steps and a bit of skill.

What Is Above The Clouds?

This location was added in version 1.72.0 and stands apart because it's the only place where the fishing area is invisible and cannot be touched. The fishing zone sits far below the cloud surface, and the water there doesn't interact with your rod in the usual way. This makes it tricky to fish, but the exclusive fish make it worth the effort.

Prerequisites

Before you can reach Above The Clouds, you must first unlock the Underground Music Venue in Crystal Cove. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Navigate to The Depths and find the tunnel entrance at coordinates 1302, -701, 1604.
  2. Travel through the tunnel to reach the center of Crystal Cove.
  3. Place a Chaotic Enchant Relic on the altar in the center of the area.
  4. The Underground Music Venue will unlock, allowing you to meet the Mysterious Songstress.

Step-by-Step Access Guide

Once you've unlocked the Underground Music Venue, follow these three steps to reach Above The Clouds:

Step 1: Accept the Musical Fish Quest

  1. Go to the Underground Music Venue and talk to the Mysterious Songstress NPC.
  2. Select the option "Can you teach me how to sing?"
  3. She will give you a quest to catch either a Treble Bass or a DJ Spinopus (both are musical fish).
  4. Complete this quest by catching one of these fish anywhere in Fisch.

Step 2: Receive the Hang Glider

  1. Return to the Mysterious Songstress after completing the quest.
  2. Talk to her again and she'll give you a second quest and a Hang Glider.
  3. You don't need to complete the second quest—the Hang Glider is what matters.
  4. Head to the peak of Castaway Cliffs.
  5. An orange ring will spawn when you arrive at the peak.

Step 3: Glide Through the Rings

  1. Equip your Hang Glider and begin gliding through the rings that appear.
  2. Fly through each ring to get speed boosts—they make reaching the next ring easier.
  3. You don't have to pass through every single ring, but it's recommended for the boost.
  4. Follow the arrow that appears after you touch the orange ring.
  5. Keep gliding until you reach Above The Clouds.
💡 Tip — This step is difficult on mobile and tablet devices. If you're using those, a PC or console will give you much better control over the Hang Glider.

Important Fishing Tips

Fishing at Above The Clouds comes with special challenges because of how the location is designed:

💡 Tip — Your rod needs at least 150 meters of line length to fish here. The fishing area is so far below the clouds that shorter rods won't reach. Use the Long enchantment on rods with shorter lines to meet this requirement.

Watch Your Rod Length: Some rods with very long lines, like the Long Rod and Dave Rod, will actually cast past the invisible fishing area entirely. These won't work unless you can trigger an instant catch. Test your rod to see if the line length is compatible before you start fishing.

Invisible Water: Since the water here is invisible and can't be touched, your hook won't stop naturally when you cast. This is what makes the line-length balance so important. Cast carefully and watch for bites even though you can't see where the line goes.

Prioritize the Wyvern: If you're hunting for the rarest catch, focus on rainy weather conditions when fishing. The Wyvern requires a Truffle Worm (a Legendary bait), but it's one of the most sought-after fish in the game.
