The Algae Lurker is a long green-blue fish with light green fins. In the bestiary, it's classified as a rare-tier catch. When you hook one, a red exclamation mark pops above your head and a bell sound plays—signals that alert you to a tough fight ahead.

Where to Find It

Head to Azure Lagoon. That's the only location where Algae Lurkers spawn. Make sure you're fishing during the right conditions or you won't encounter any.

How to Catch It

  1. Cast your rod at Azure Lagoon during day, foggy spring weather.
  2. Wait for a bite while holding down. You can shake your rod to attract fish faster if you're impatient.
  3. Hook set: When the fish bites, a red exclamation mark appears and a bell sounds. This is an Algae Lurker.
  4. Reel carefully: Hold down or click to pull the white bar on the fishing UI. Follow the blue line as closely as you can—the Algae Lurker moves erratically and fast, so stay focused.
  5. Fight through the penalty: The Algae Lurker applies a -25% progress speed decrease while you're reeling. This means your progress bar fills slower than normal. Don't panic; just keep the white bar aligned with the blue line.
  6. Fill the progress bar: Keep reeling until the bottom progress bar fills completely. When it does, you've caught it.
