The Abyssal King is one of Fisch's most prized legendary fish. This colossal being commands the abyssal depths and demands serious preparation to land. It's worth the hunt—not just for bragging rights, but for the excellent rewards.

What Is the Abyssal King?

The Abyssal King is a legendary-tier fish known for its massive size and authority over the deep. According to legend, only the Kraken itself outranks it. When you hook one, your screen will flash with a legendary alert and a distinctive bell sound will play, so you'll know you've got something special on the line.

The fish can weigh anywhere from 209.5 kg at the low end to over 1900 kg at the extreme high end, with an average catch around 456 kg. You'll earn 2000 base experience points per catch, plus currency based on its weight.

Location and Requirements

The Abyssal King spawns only in Atlantis, specifically in the Kraken Pool. This is a specific location within Atlantis, so make sure you're fishing in the right spot.

To catch it, you need:

  • Bait: Truffle Worm (this is the only bait that will work)
  • Time: Night only
  • Weather: Any weather condition works
  • Season: Any season works

How to Catch the Abyssal King

Follow these steps to reel in your Abyssal King:

  1. Travel to Atlantis and locate the Kraken Pool.
  2. Make sure it's nighttime in-game. If it's daytime, wait or find a server where it's already night.
  3. Equip Truffle Worm as your bait and cast your line into the Kraken Pool.
  4. Hold down your mouse button to cast your bobber into the water.
  5. Wait for a bite. You can shake your rod (by pressing a key or clicking rapidly) to attract fish faster if you're impatient.
  6. When you feel a bite, hold down or click to pull the white bar. Follow the blue line as closely as you can—don't panic if you miss it a few times; you get multiple chances.
  7. Keep the white bar within the blue zone until the progress bar at the bottom fills completely.
  8. Once the progress bar is full, your Abyssal King is yours!
💡 Tip — The Abyssal King is legendary-tier, meaning it's rare. You might need to cast many times before one bites. Patience and the right bait are your best friends.

Mutations and Variants

Caught Abyssal Kings can develop various mutations that change their appearance and sometimes their value. Some popular mutations include Sparkling, Shiny, Big, Solarblaze, Transclusent, Jolly, Heavenly, Blighted, Albino, Negative, Glossy, Quantum, Firework, Nuclear, Aurora, Atlantean, Electric, Mythical, Mosaic, Hexed, Festive, Subspace, Frozen, Prismize, and many more. Each mutation is unique, so you might want to hunt for specific variants to show off or trade.

💡 Tip — Legendary fish with rare mutations can be valuable in trades. If you catch an Abyssal King with an unusual or striking mutation, consider holding onto it or checking what other players will offer.
