Akkorokamui is the rarest fish you can catch in Fisch. It's an apex-tier creature that appears only under specific conditions, and reeling it in is a serious challenge. If you land one, you've pulled off something almost no one else has.

What Is Akkorokamui?

Akkorokamui is a monstrous squid—far bigger than the Colossal Squid. Its tentacles are covered in white glowing dots, and crimson plates cover its entire underside. According to legend, it grants great fortune to those it spares, and swift demise to those it doesn't.

When you hook it, an "Apex" exclamation pops above your head and a shimmering sound plays. The catch quote is: "FROM THE TRENCHES OF THE OCEAN!"

Where to Find It

Akkorokamui spawns only in the far part of the Ocean, and only during an Earthquake event. You cannot catch it at any other time or location.

Head to the deepest area of the ocean and keep fishing when an earthquake is happening. That's your only window.

Bait & Requirements

To attract Akkorokamui, use one of these two baits:

  • Meteor (Limited rarity)
  • Stag Beetle (Mythical rarity)

Both are extremely rare, so stock up before you head out.

Size & Catch Difficulty

Akkorokamui ranges from 600,000 kg to 29,820,000 kg, with an average of around 2,500,000 kg. Your catch weight will vary drastically each time.

The real challenge is the mechanics. When you hook Akkorokamui, its progress bar fills at -95% speed. That means reeling it in takes much longer and is exponentially harder than normal fish. It also moves erratically across the bar, making it unpredictable.

How to Catch It

  1. Travel to the far part of the Ocean.
  2. Wait for an Earthquake event to trigger.
  3. Equip Meteor or Stag Beetle as your bait.
  4. Cast your line and hold until a bite arrives.
  5. When you feel a bite, hold down (or click) to start reeling.
  6. Follow the blue line on the bar as closely as you can. The bar will fill much slower than usual because of the -95% progress penalty.
  7. Stay patient and focused. You can mess up a few times—you just need to fill that bottom progress bar completely.
  8. Once the bar is full, you've reeled in your Akkorokamui.
💡 Tip — Akkorokamui's erratic movement makes it harder to follow. Move your cursor deliberately and expect rapid direction changes. Practice on easier fish first if you're new to the minigame.
💡 Tip — Only fish during earthquakes in the far ocean. If no earthquake is happening, you won't see Akkorokamui no matter how perfect your technique is.
💡 Tip — The catch grants around 652,000 base XP, making it worth the effort for leveling even if the weight is low. Higher-weight specimens give significantly more XP.

Possible Mutations

Akkorokamui can spawn with various mutations, including:

  • Oblivion, Shiny, Hexed, Blessed, Sacratus
  • Nuclear, Siren's Spite, Luminescent, Subspace, Mossy
  • Mastered, Merry, Aurora, Sparkling, Darkness
  • Big, Supersonic, Fabulous, Fury, Solarblaze, Jackpot

Each mutation changes the appearance of your catch. Certain mutations (like Big or Jackpot) will significantly increase its size and value.
