DOORS is a horror game created by LSPLASH. You move through a series of doors, and each one presents a new challenge or threat. The game is designed to teach you through death—you'll fail, learn something new, then try again.

Important: DOORS uses loud sounds and flashing lights. Play with headphones off if those bother you, and lower your graphics if flashing affects you.

Starting Your First Run

  1. Launch the game and join a server.
  2. You'll spawn in a hallway. Look ahead—you see your first door.
  3. Move toward it and open the door by walking into it or clicking on it.
  4. Enter the next room. This is your first challenge.

That's it. There's no tutorial menu or items to collect at the start. You're thrown in immediately. This is intentional.

Core Loop: Open, Survive, Repeat

The game loop is simple:

  1. Approach a door.
  2. Open it and enter the next room.
  3. Encounter an entity, hazard, or puzzle.
  4. React correctly (hide, run, solve) or you die.
  5. If you survive, move to the next door.
  6. Repeat until you can't.

Each death resets you to the start. You'll learn what killed you and handle it better next time.

💡 Tip — The game recommends playing without a guide first. Your deaths teach you what works. Pay attention to what kills you and adjust your strategy.

Basic Controls

DOORS uses standard Roblox controls:

  • W / A / S / D — Move forward, left, backward, right.
  • Space — Jump.
  • Shift — Sprint (hold).
  • Mouse — Look around.
  • Click on doors — Open them (or walk into them).

There's no combat. You can't fight entities. Your tools are movement, hiding, and observation.

Early Goals

As a new player:

  • Open your first 5–10 doors and see what you're up against.
  • Survive one full run (as many doors as you can without dying).
  • Learn to recognize what triggers danger in each room.
  • Understand that death is part of learning—it's expected.

Common Beginner Mistakes

  • Panicking and running blindly. Most threats can be handled calmly. Stop, look, listen.
  • Ignoring audio cues. Sounds often warn you before danger appears. Pay attention.
  • Opening doors too fast. Some entities appear immediately after you enter. Slow down and assess.
  • Not hiding when you should. Some encounters require you to hide, not flee. Experiment with spots in rooms.
  • Expecting a story from the start. DOORS is about the game itself, not a narrative you unlock early. Enjoy the gameplay first.

Tips for Staying Alive

  • Play with headphones on if you can—audio is critical.
  • Use max graphics if your device can handle it. Visual detail helps you spot threats.
  • After each death, ask yourself: "What killed me?" and "How could I have avoided it?"
  • Doors is designed to be unpredictable. Strategies that worked in one run might not work in another.
  • The game is challenging by design. Expect to die dozens of times before you find your rhythm.

Special Content

DOORS has special April Fools modes available in the VISIONS tab. Check those out once you've played the main game—they're bonus challenges and experiences.
