Blox Fruits is an action-adventure game where you sail across the ocean, fight enemies, hunt for hidden secrets, and climb the ranks to become the strongest. You'll choose between becoming a master swordsman or a fruit user with incredible powers. The level cap is 2800, so there's plenty of progression ahead.
This guide covers your first steps, core mechanics, and what to focus on early.
Getting Started
When you first load Blox Fruits, you'll spawn in the First Sea. Here's what to do:
- Look around and familiarize yourself with the game world. You'll see NPCs, enemies, and other players.
- Open your inventory and stats menu to see your current abilities and weapons.
- Check the quest log or NPC dialogue to find your first training mission or enemy to fight.
- Start by engaging weak enemies to earn experience and money.
- As you progress and level up, you'll unlock access to tougher areas and the Second Sea.
Core Mechanics
Blox Fruits revolves around a few key systems:
Combat
You fight enemies using either a sword or a Blox Fruit. Swords require you to click or tap to attack, while fruits give you special abilities. Both paths level up as you use them. Experiment early to see which playstyle you prefer.
Experience and Leveling
Defeating enemies grants experience points (EXP). As you level up, your stats increase, making you stronger. The grind is real—expect to spend time fighting enemies repeatedly.
Money
Enemies drop money when defeated. You'll use this to buy fruits, weapons, and items from NPCs.
Blox Fruits Explained
Blox Fruits are the power-ups that define your character. When you eat a fruit, you gain special abilities tied to that fruit's type. There are over 40 fruits available in the game, including Flame, Ice, Light, Dark, Dragon, and many more.
Finding Fruits
Fruits spawn naturally around the map every hour and disappear after 20 minutes if not picked up. Search different areas to find them.
Buying Fruits
You can also purchase fruits from the Blox Fruits Dealer NPC. He restocks random fruits every 4 hours. If you don't have the money yet, you can farm enemies until you do.
Choosing Your Fruit
Each fruit has different strengths and weaknesses. Some are better for boss fights, others for PvP. Don't worry about picking the "perfect" fruit early—focus on one you enjoy and learn its abilities.
Early Goals
Your first priorities as a beginner:
- Reach level 10–20: Fight easy enemies and get comfortable with combat.
- Earn money: Farm enemies to afford your first fruit.
- Get a fruit: Buy one from the Dealer or find one spawned on the map.
- Learn your fruit's abilities: Spend time using each move to understand timing and range.
- Progress the story: Complete quests and defeat bosses to unlock new areas.
- Reach the Second Sea: This is a major milestone that unlocks stronger enemies and new content.
Common Beginner Mistakes
Grinding in the wrong area: Don't waste time fighting enemies that give you 0 EXP. Move to a tougher zone when enemies stop dropping good rewards.
Ignoring your stats: You'll earn stat points as you level. Invest them wisely—different builds (sword vs. fruit) need different stat distributions. Read NPC guides if you're unsure.
Eating your first fruit too fast: Some fruits are better for early game than others. If you find a common fruit, you can eat it—but if you're offered a rare one, think twice before committing.
Fighting stronger players solo: Other players can attack you. Avoid PvP until you're confident in your skills, or find a crew to help.
Forgetting to redeem codes: The game regularly releases promotional codes that give free stat resets, money, or experience boosts. Redeem them early for a head start.
Claiming Codes
Blox Fruits frequently releases codes that reward stat resets, money, or 2x experience boosts. To redeem a code:
- Look for the codes icon on the bottom left of your screen.
- Click it to open the codes menu.
- Type the code exactly as shown (codes are case-sensitive).
- Press Enter to claim your reward.
Note that 2x experience boosts stack with each other and persist across server rejoins.
