Adopt Me! is a pet simulation and building game where you raise virtual pets, collect items, decorate your home, and trade with other players. It's made by Uplift Games and is one of Roblox's most popular titles. The core idea is simple: adopt pets, take care of them, customize your space, and interact with friends in a social world.

What Is Adopt Me!?

In Adopt Me!, you start by adopting your first pet and raising it from an egg to an adult. As you progress, you'll unlock more pets to adopt—including common animals, rare creatures, and legendary mythical pets. You'll earn currency to buy furniture and decorations, then build out your custom dream home. The game is largely social: you can trade pets and items with other players, roleplay family scenarios, and show off your collection.

Your First 10 Minutes

Step 1: Join and pick your starter pet. When you first load in, you'll be prompted to adopt your first pet. Don't overthink this—you'll collect many more later. Pick one you like.

Step 2: Meet your pet. Your new pet will appear as an egg. You need to care for it by feeding, playing with, and petting it. Tap the pet or click the options above its head to interact.

Step 3: Explore the starter home. You'll spawn inside a small house. Walk around and get familiar with the space. You can go outside to see the neighborhood and other players.

Step 4: Open the menu. Press the menu button (usually in the top-left corner) to access your inventory, stats, pet list, and other options. This is where you buy food, toys, and home items.

Step 5: Feed your pet. Go to the menu, find food, and click it to give your pet meals. Your pet will show a hunger level—keep it fed to stay happy.

Core Gameplay Loop

The main cycle in Adopt Me! revolves around four activities:

  • Caring for pets: Feed, play with, and pet your animals to raise their happiness and reduce their hunger. A happy pet will age up faster.
  • Earning currency: Complete tasks, care for pets, or trade items to earn in-game money. Use this to buy food, toys, and home decorations.
  • Collecting new pets: Adopt new pets from various locations and sources. Some are common, others are rare or legendary.
  • Customizing your home: Decorate your house and yard with furniture, plants, and themed items to make it your own.

Building Your Home

Your home is fully customizable. You can place furniture, change the layout, add outdoor decorations, and more. To decorate:

  1. Open your menu and look for the home or building section.
  2. Browse available furniture and items.
  3. Buy items with your earned currency.
  4. Place them in your house or yard by clicking and dragging.
  5. Rearrange anytime to suit your style.

Your home is visible to other players when they visit, so it's a way to show off your taste and progress. Theme your rooms, add pets to display, and make it feel personal.

Playing With Friends

Adopt Me! is built for social play. You can:

  • Visit your friends' homes and they can visit yours.
  • Trade pets and items directly with people you know.
  • Roleplay scenarios together (family, pet care, etc.).
  • Work together to complete tasks or events.
  • Show off your pet collection and home design.

Add friends in-game and stay connected through the chat system. The community is very active, so you'll always find people to interact with.

Early Game Tips

Learn pet ages and stages. Understanding how long each stage lasts helps you plan when to adopt the next pet. Some pets age quickly, others slowly.

Join events when they appear. Adopt Me! regularly runs events with special pets and rewards. Participating early gives you exclusive items that may be hard to get later.
